The Municipality of Dordrecht is making the municipality more sustainable and encouraging electric driving. Are you planning to buy an electric car or do you have one and would like to apply for a public charging station? Check here what conditions you must meet:
- You have no possibility to place a charging station on your own property.
- There are not enough possibilities in your neighborhood to charge your car.
- You own a fully electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid vehicle with a range of at least 50 kilometers.
There are rules for applying for a charging station. The municipality makes sure that the charging point:
- Large enough for more charging points in the future.
- Does not cause problems for other traffic.
- Is not in the way of benches or public green spaces.
What happens after applying for a charging station?
After your application, we take care of a smooth and swift process. We arrange everything from consultation with the municipality to final installation, so you have nothing to worry about. These are the steps:
- We contact the municipality and review the options that fit your request.
- Together with the municipality we look for a suitable location to install the charging station.
- Upon agreement, the charging station is installed by Orange Charging.

Rates for charging at an Orange Charging charge point in your municipality
Orange Charging keeps its tariffs sharp and transparent. Below is our charging rate per kWh, valid from January 1, 2025.

The above charging rate is charged by your charging service provider (MSP), the party with whom you have a contract and whose charging card you received. Please note that the MSP may charge an additional fee for their services, depending on the agreements made. They also handle the settlement of your charging sessions. Transparent rates
For charging at the charging stations in your municipality, we charge a fixed rate per kilowatt hour, which is settled with the provider of your charging card. The costs charged by Orange Charging to the charging service provider are easy to calculate. See below for an example of the cost calculation.
Example
Suppose you charge 20 kilowatt-hours at an Orange Charging charging station in your municipality. Through the charging service provider, Orange Charging charges €9.40 excl. VAT (€11.38 incl. VAT) for this. This amount is based on the rate of €0.47 per kWh (20 kWh x €0.47).
